First of all I would like to thank Mr. Chia for this well written and thought out article. It is very unfortunate that some people like “Mohammed” cannot face the reality of a growing KURDISTAN. Let me just go ahead and put it out there that Mr. Mohammed is most likely an old member of the inhumane baath party, therefore his comments suit his thought process very well. Apparantly, Mr. Mohammed does not understand history too well because if he did, he would know that Kurds were the only group of people in Iraq with enough guts to stand up to the brutal Iraqi dictator in 1991. I don’t understand how a nation fighting for their God given rights is “back stabbing.” I truly laughed when i read that comment because it sounds extremely ignorant. Furthermore, Jalal Talabani is the president of Iraq, and the Kurdish people take pride in him. It is understandable that Mohammed is bitter because after all his arab country is being lead by a KURD. Anyway, my advice to Mohammed is to open up a book and read it because you will learn many valuable things. Next time you decide to make outrageous comments, think hard before you write. BIJI KURDISTAN! Hats off to Mr. Chia! He is a role model for the Kurdish youth.

Dear Mohamed,
I suggest that you read history a bit more before you make such outrageous commenst. Kurdistan is a land of 40 million people that the world has recognized as a largest nation in the world without an independent sate. I hope you are not mixing kurds and Jews. I am sure if you fight the Jews hard enough you could probably free Palestine. Open your closed minds and admit the reality. Unfortunatley for you, arab nationnalism is not enought to keep Kurds quite. I think you should replace your old attitudes and hopfully you can think and respect other nations’ rights better.

The author clearly harbors strong biases and deliberately distorts realities in order to further stigmatize the Iranian government. The bias is evident in the author’s glorification of the Shah’s regime - a ruthless authoritarian figure.

In order to detect whether articles are “fair and balanced” - a good way to tell is if articles shift from positivity to negativity. During the Shah’s era, the author cherry picks positive examples of happy Jewish interaction with that regime. After the revolution, the author fails to cite any positive aspect after this point - it’s completely negative.

My own discussions with Iranian Jews contradicts a number of assertions in this article.

Nothing is more hilarious than seeing right-wing Jews flailing their arms around hysterically about “jizya” and “dhimmi” in their ongoing efforts to incite hatred of Islam in the Western world.

Oh my, paying a little tax after being conquered, surely that must count among the most brutal war policies in recorded history!

There were no pogroms, no inquisitions, no holocausts committed against Jews under any Islamic empire.

Are we to presume that you prefer the “non-discriminatory nature” of Russia and Germany and France’s treatment of Jews?

7th century Islamic law was far more tolerant of Jews than 21st century Israel is of Muslim Palestinians, who are continually beaten, brutalized, tortured, and ethnically cleansed according to recent Israeli historians and human rights groups.

But oh no we can’t talk about that that would be “anti-Semitism” so let’s just keep bashing Islam it’s so fashionable these days.

This probably is the very individual that has led the most effective behind the scenes effort in bringing stability to post war Iraq. The Nobel Peace Prize WOULD be appropriate, however these guys that conduct their work unrecognized by the larger media world continue that work for more than money. I dare say that Cannon White while certainly being honored by such mention would feel considerably distracted by the very same.

Does he talk about jizya and how non-Muslims were forced to pay a tax for protection after Muslims conquered a territory?

Does he also mention that he helped institute sharia law in the new Iraq?

Hard to reconcile how someone with Jewish heritage could be so blind to the discriminatory nature of sharia law, particularly to Jews, nevermind all other non-Muslims

His frequent pieces in the NY Times indicate he is quite the shill for the jihad

Wow, in response to the last comment.

See you can’t attack someone else case and claim it to be filled with holes without clearing identifying why they’re holes. You just took some quotes that you disagreed with and then tied it off with a clearly biased and specious statement.

The author claimed that if we were to define ownership of land and all it’s resources within by the inhabitants with the most deep rooted culture and history then by that approach the north of Iraq belongs to Kurdish people.

What you’re doing is portraying her and the kurds as antagonists without a shred of logical argument, you give them mantle titles like Traitors and backstabbers in an effort to refute her systematic argument which is backed by a published historical paper.

First of all you dont deserve the name Mohamed, second, dont just write like a blind, go read history and then discuss and write what you feel. this is totaly bias and very childish, I dont know where you are from but this is a truth and it has been a truth, the KURDS are the biggest nation without a country! you may not know this very well but I am sure your parents and ancestors know very well and I know the fact that the kurds are hated by many, however they are FEARD by all !

So please either change your name and identity or stop writing empty sentences on serious articles.

And Inshala there will be a country named KURDISTAN soon, we have started the process, we have a government and its known internationaly, its KURDISTAN REGION like or not we do have and we will have our KURDISTAN back from betrayers and racist people like you
